adou and Naoto don’t exactly have a close relationship besides fighting with one another. However, Naoto seems to hold Badou in a higher respect than his partner, Heine. The two of them don’t exactly spend that much time with one another, although she does know of his “smoking problem” when he exploded during a fight.
When they first meet face to face, he is, more or less, interested and also confused about her presence. This is because she was traveling nearby Heine, who is known to detest most women due to something that happened in the past. Although he’s a little edgy about her presence, he lets it go as he, Heine, and also Naoto, go on their way to visit Granny Liza.
Once Heine acts quite coldly to Naoto, Granny Liza explains to Naoto that he has this sort of “problem” around women. A rather funny panel is shown as Naoto stares at Badou. His response that he and Heine’s relationship “isn’t like that,” gives off a small assumption that Naoto thought the two of them had some homosexual relationship with one another. Of course, Badou denies this and tells Naoto that Heine “just can’t get along with any women” other than Nil.
As Badou finishes his business with Granny Liza and makes a move to exit, Naoto tells him to wait, finding out that he is a private investigator.
“If you’re a private investigator then I’d like to ask you some questions also.”
The facial expression on Badou’s face is surprise as he is baffled that Naoto actually said something. The two of them share a momentary glance as Naoto unzips her pack to bring out her katana that Fuyumine left behind for her.
After gaining some trust from Granny Liza, Naoto proceeds to tell her story. Badou seems to take a moment of interest in her story, but it soon goes away once Heine advises him to “buy more smokes.” The two then decide to “negotiate” with a group of thugs that are attacking them at the moment. Naoto overhears the conversations between them with a dull and unbelievable face, probably thinking the same thing as the thugs: “You guys are the negotiators?!”
Later, Noki and Luki appear on scene and are eager to get into the fight themselves. At this moment, Badou, Heine, and Naoto fight together to fend off the enemies surrounding them.
Romance between these two characters would be somewhat amusing. However, the two of them don’t really spend that much time together so far in the story. Naoto does respect Badou on some degree, although the two don’t exactly think of each other that much at the moment.
